HOSEI Business School of Innovation Management’s Global MBA Program is built around its Project courses. The first of these is Project 1-A. These are internship projects with host organizations including regional government organizations, related regional organizations, and non-profit organizations (NPOs).
Through GMBA’s internship programs, students have the opportunity to gain practical skills and real-world business experience in Japan, and apply what they are learning in their classroom courses. This is known as “active learning” or “project-based learning,” and aims to support students as they develop their careers after graduation.
For the 2024 academic year, there are three teams of Year-1 students participating in Project 1-A Internship, with each team assigned to a host organization. Host organizations may change from year to year, and internship activities typically last about three to four months. This year two regional government organizations and one nonprofit organization have generously agreed to host our students.

On October 30th, one Project 1-A team had a kick-off meeting with their host, NPO Mirai no Mori, a nonprofit organization that creates life-changing outdoor programs for abused, neglected, and orphaned children in Japan, supporting their growth into happy and successful young adults.
Since the kick-off meeting, Team Mirai no Mori has been proactively participating in the host organization’s events as interns. The link below shows one example of how they are getting involved with their host organization:
